2Wire 1000SW modem

So I just bought a Mac and I have a few questions. I have been having issues where my wireless connection would not work for hours sometimes on my Leopard format. I called SBC and Applecare spent 2 hrs on the phone with them and they basically told me my modem is too old and it doesn't support Leopard! Does this sound right to all of you? Well I tried opening Windows XP and IT WORKED! Besides buying a newer modem is there any resolution to this? Also when I'm in Windows XP what commands would right click the mouse? Or is it impossible?

You should really start a separate topic for this, as the original thread is pretty old and not totally relevant.

Anyways, I have a couple of things to check.

1. If you're not using wireless, make sure you are using Ethernet and not USB to connect the modem to the Mac. I don't think that many USB modems work with Macs.

2. If you are using Ethernet, do a power cycle (turn off the modem, wait 30 seconds, turn on the modem) on the modem when switching from XP to OS X. This will release the IP address from the modem.

Good Luck
