I bought a new i7 iMac about two months ago and love it but the Bluetooth keyboard it came with recently started acting up. It randomly disconnects and when it does it will type whatever letter I last hit on the keyboard repeatly.

Anyone else having these issues? I already updated the firmware.

Thanks for any help!

Go to your Keyboard preferences, what is the charge indicated along the bottom of the window? Try turning off and then back on the keyboard, or replacing the batteries.

Charge is at 55% but this has been happening since it was about 75%. I tried turning it off and on and it still happens.

Bluetooth

Well you will always get the slow waking after sleep and random disconnecting with a bluetooth keyboard... Least that's what all the reviews and other users here seem to say.
But strangely I have also had the same trouble with repeating keys, but only when I minimise a window (firefox) while holding down a key... I have learnt not to do that now :)
I have the Logitech DiNovo mac edition wireless full keyboard- Yeah, the "cheap" one... It doesn't use bluetooth so have no idea why it does it... But it is only slightly annoying.
Might be some hidden bug within the OS or Firefox?!

Cell Phone

I have had the same problem and over time noticed that my cell phone was next to the keyboard when it happened. I now keep my cell phone in the other room and the problem hasn't happened again. This might not be the cause of your problem but worth considering.

I don't think your repeating keys issue is the same as mine. My keys only start to repeat when the keyboard disconnects, and I'm using Apple's wireless keyboard. And I also think it isn't a OS issue. Is anyone else having this issue? I think it might be something wrong with the keyboard and if it is should I just take it back to Apple and get a replacement?

This could possibly be it. I always have my cell phone around me when I'm on the computer. Troubleshooting for Apple says that some cordless phones can cause interference but I didn't even think about my cell phone. I'll try it out. But if this is the cause then this would be strange because my cell phone is currently sitting between the iMac and my keyboard right now and I'm not having any issues whatsoever. When the keyboard does have issues, it just disconnects, then reconnects, then like 5 minutes later it does it again, and this continues for a little bit and then it stops. I believe the repeating keys is due to it disconnecting while I'm pressing a key.

Scratch what I just said before. I just sent out a text on my cell phone and set it beside the keyboard and it lost connection. I believe this could be the issue. Must be only when I receive or send a call or text or signal.

Thanks for the help!
