Wireless Keyboard - dysfunctional function keys

Just got the wireless keyboard and the Function keys don't do what they're supposed to. ie, F1 & F2 don't control brightness, F3 doesn't control dashboard, F10 & F11 don't control volume etc.

Tried changing them in preferences, but no joy.

Any advice?

Have you installed the keyboard update Apple released when they brought those keyboards out? What version of Mac OS X are you using?
