Anyone else noticed this?

I have an Apple wireless keyboard, bought for my 2006 iMac. It's great.

The wireless keyboard that comes with the iMac looks identical, but the keys don't feel as good. They are slightly more 'spongy' and don't 'click' as confidently.

Checking the back, I see the following:

NEW A1314 3V DC
OLD A1255 4.5V DC

Anyone else noticed this, or did you all know this already! :D

(just noticed the F3 and F4 keys are labelled differently)

whaat? i have the wireless keyboard that comes with late 2012 iMac...you say that now are changes to the new one?

It's been quite a time they moved from 3 AA cells (A1255 - one cell got 1.5V time 3 = 4.5V) to 2 AA cells:

In October 2009, a slightly revised third model was released. New model number A1314 replaced the A1255, two years and two months after the initial release. The new model now uses only two AA batteries instead of three originally. Additionally, Mac OS X 10.5.8 is now the minimum OS over the original Mac OS X 10.4.10. This model of keyboard become standard with new generation of iMacs introduced on the same day.

I don't think they changed anything substantial afterwards.

I have a mid-2011 iMac and the wireless keyboard is A1314, so they've been using this for awhile.
