Wireless mirroring of late 2009 imac

Hi! I hope someone could help me out. I am looking for a solution to mirror the monitor of my iMac, but it is too old to support Apple TV for this purpose. Any other solutions you can think of?

Main purpose would be to watch videos I have on the harddrive of my imac, i.e., the need is not only related to an app such as Netflix.

air parrot will mirror the screen,

but beamer will probably work better for files, it plays the file directly to the aTV, instead of playing to your screen and then streaming that image.
