For the times you use the MBP as a workstation, do you use a a wireless mouse/keyboard or a wired mouse/keyboard?
My kids have the apple wireless mouse and keyboard and they eat lithium batteries. Not sure what I want for my new MBP. ???

old bluetooth apple keyboard (wireless keyboard + numberpad = win)
wireless logitech mouse

Wireless. It gives more flexibility with the placement of your machine.

Macbook Pro + 20" Cinema Display
Elevator for MBP Magic Mouse
Wireless Aluminum Keyboard

10x Sanyo Eneloop AA
BC-700 Battery Charger

If you want to make your wireless endeavors easier, I suggest picking up the above Sanyo/BC combo. I forgot how much the charger was, but you can get a pack of around 12 eneloop cells from costco @ 19.99 which is great compared to some places selling a 4 pack for 10.99. The BC-700 will keep em running smooth and is considered on of the more "intelligent" chargers because it doesn't use a time cycle and won't overcharge your batteries.

You should tell your children to stop eating lithium batteries! I think that is unsafe! :D

BTW I prefer wireless both!

wired.

i had a terrible experience with a logitech mx1000.

i might give wireless another chance in the future though.

Use hybrid rechargeables. Just get 2 sets for each device and swap them when needed. With hybrids, you don't have to keep them on the charger. They'll hold their charge for a long time (low self-discharge like NiCads).

I use the Magic Mouse daily with my MBP, but on occasion, when using an external display, I'll also use the BT keyboard .

I mostly use a wired mouse and always use a wired keyboard.

I've found with the wireless mouse (magic mouse) that I don't have the same precision that I would with a wired mouse. To that end, I use both, in some instances I'll use a wire mouse and others the wireless. I choose both because the magic mouse was a gift :D

As for the keyboard, I've never given it much thought, I always chose wired, mostly because I like the usb ports
