I got the hp printer that you can buy with your mac for 100 and then get the money back, yeah that one. How do I set up wireless printing?

im not sure of the model that you have, but with my hp printer I found it easiest to plug my printer directly into my wireless router via ethernet and let it do everything automatically.

You also need to put the printer's MAC address into your network.

Wireless Help

Were you successful? I, too need help setting up my new canon mx310 as a wireless printer. Is it possible? I have a new macbook set up with wireless internet via a router. I am climbing stairs everytime I need to print. Is there a solution for me? I am new at this, so please help.

same problems here

OK, first of all I should tell you I am quite new to the wonderful world of MAC (half a year).

I've got:
  • iMac Aliuminium running MAC OS X 10.5 Leopard
  • Canon Pixma iP 1600 printer
  • D-Link wireless router DI-524UP with usb port for printer

I was able to set up all this hardware and use this printer wirelessly when I boot Windows XP Home on my iMac. Well actually I needed some help of my friend but at last I have my printer working in windows.

The problem is I cannot do the same on Leopard environment (neither could on Tiger). I can use my printer if I connect it directly via USB to my iMac, but this is not convenient for some reasons.

I am willing to put here some screenshots, but I am not sure which are needed. Feel free to ask me to do some.
