I have a Powerbook G4 running Panther. I also run Firefox on a domestic wireless network. I have bought a Lexmark x5470 all-in-one and a Lexmark wireless printer server. It works on my wife's Windows pc but my Mac does not recognise the printer server. Set up refers to Safari and Rendezvous etc. I assume this is to enable the Lexmark to join my house system? Anyone help a non-techie old guy please? Phil.

Drivers on OS X aren't like on Windows - they don't work on all the comm protocols unless they are CUPS drivers (or postscript, which is CUPS by default). Brother is the only manufacturer so far to provide CUPS drivers. Your only chance to make this work is if Lexmark wrote a proprietary network protocol into their driver - if so, you will find a proprietary protocol choice like "Lexmark IP" or "Lexmark TCP/IP" in the More Printers section (that's on 10.4 - don't remember 10.3), then that will work.
