Lastnight at work I noticed that the company I work for wireless asked for a password. Problem is I didnt know I needed one. So I pulled out my ipod and my iphone and I was able to surf the internet just fine without a password. The guy who works with me uses a HP netbook and he was able to logon with no password to the wireless network. I tried many things with my macbook but nothing worked.

I'd contact your companies IT department for help with that. Could be a number of reasons that you aren't able to connect, from User Agent filtering to MAC address restrictions.
