Hello,

outside of Apple's "AirPort Extreme Base Station" (its a little too much money for me right now...i gotta save for the new imacs somehow, right?) what is the best router to pick up for my macbook? the most i would be able to pay is 75.00-100.00. thanks and have a good one.

There's the Airport Express for $99.

...or you can get a Linksys WRT54G that's about $50.

Neither of those are 802.11n, so if that's important to you, I would suggest a Linksys WRT300N, which is about $130.

I've used linksys products with no problem. I think the one I have now is a WRT54, works great.

Sorry to any Linksys fan but from my experience...

Linksys last a long time, but when it fails... All hell comes loose and it's a pain in the ass to setup.

But if you want to go ahead w/ Linksys then...
LINKSYS WRT54G
LINKSYS WRT150N Draft 802.11n
LINKSYS WRT54GL (3x Winner)

If you're a gamer or likes to share big files w/ other computers (wired) then this router has a gigabit port. No wireless N tho... Only problem I have w/ this router is it randomly (maybe it's my laptop) drops it's wireless signal. The support from their site is pretty bad, from what I hear, and their rebate takes VERY long time...
