I wake up in the morning and start my day by listening to some news podcasts on the speakers in my bedroom. Then, as I go into the bathroom, I disconnect my iPhone from the bedroom speakers, take in into the bathroom, and plug it into the bathroom speakers to continue listening to the podcast. Then, I bring it back out into the bedroom again after 20 minutes.

Can anybody suggest a wireless solution for me so that I don't have to unplug and replug the iPhone into the speakers?

Yeah, I just looked this up and it looks like the Airport Express can solve this problem for me, but I would need to buy two Airport Expresses - one for each set of speakers. Given that my existing router is sufficient for my apartment, it seems wasteful to buy two more routers.

I'm guessing there isn't any cheaper solution?

Small portable bluetooth speakers are pretty cheap nowadays. I suppose you can buy one and just carry that between rooms if it's between range.

I'd look at one of the many Bluetooth speaker systems with a built-in rechargeable battery. You can leave it plugged in to power in the bedroom, then unplug it & carry it with you. Depending on how far it is, you may not even need to take the phone with you.

    Example: Jawbone Jambox
