I've got a registered version of WireTap Pro which is neither supported/updated any longer, nor works with Snow Leopard 10.6.8. There's lots of similar software out there, but at a cost.

Are there any free or low cost tools that basically does the same thing and with the same ease as WireTap Pro?

In case others are having the same problem, I've found a solution myself:
The problem apparently is the KEXT (Kernel Extension) file which needs to be replaced. Luckily we can get the needed file from other Ambrosia software (even in demo mode). Here's what I did:

1) Install Wiretap Pro
2) Download and install Snapz Pro X for Snow Leopard.
3) Run the uninstaller (which comes with the Snapz Pro X software), but choose to remove just the Snapz Pro X software, not the audio component.

This should solve the problem.
