What's on your wish list for the next iteration of the mini?

My number 1 wish is for a Blu Ray drive and native BD support in OSX.

Then I could replace my BD player with a mini and DVR HD cable via Elgato eyeTV HD, and use it to "slingbox" over the net.

I'm giving Apple one more chance to support BD and if they don't then I'm going to have to by the Dell Xeno, much as I would hate to do that.

Sometimes their holier-than-though attitude just p*sses me off.

Apple believes that optical media is dead and they want to sell content through iTunes Store. I doubt we're going to see BR in next gen

I can't really say I disagree with the philosophy. I personally don't like physical media, and since having kids, most of it gets totally destroyed anyway :)

Hellhamer said it right, you won't see blu Ray on the Mac platform. You might as well go get the other system. Cloud computing is upon us and they want your money to stream everything to you. Sucks but it's happening now and only growing bigger.

too bad I had just started making nice 2009 mac minis double esata hacks. your minis could use a pair of 4tb units for a total of 8gb as a server. then they went and destroyed the whole idea with the 2010 mini. these are great machines I have one that has a 2.53ghz cpu and one that has a 2.66ghz cpu. one version has a pair of single 1.5tb hdds caviar blacks.

the other has a pair of raid0 3.0tb enclosures with 1.5 caviar blacks inside. the minis have do dvd or hdd inside and run cooler with less stress on the brick. the externals have their own power supplies. I was so annoyed at the re design. I finally had decent storage and speed for the mini's and Apple went in a completely different direction. I have not even made a good effort to make it a little pretty looking because It is a dead end product. (due to the no testicles cpu a 2.66 c2d does not cut it) Oh well.

cloud sucks, but unfortunately it's the future. i don't know why everyone wants all their data and media in space, but they do. anyway, we will have to keep dreaming for BD, i want it, it's just never going to happen for macs.

so for more realistic mac dreams, here is my list:
mobile quad core processor
1tb 7200 rpm drive (or at least a little more accessible for easy switching)
16 gb ram limit :)
ati mobility radeon hd 5870
....and maybe a case redesign to fit this stuff, haha
