Wish there was a true black option rather than Space Gray

I know black on aluminum is really fragile, but Space Gray is too close to silver. Not a great compromise. Whatever. It's just stuff.

I think that would depend on what the black is made of.

I used to think that about the iPhone and then decided it doesn't matter since I use a black case.

Only because Apple made it that way. The 5S was a much darker shade than the 6. I really don't know why they don't just go silver with a black faceplate. In most situations it's easy to mistake iPhone SG with silver.

That being said, the new MacBook looks darker, but so did the iPhone 6 in Apple's glossy web shot.

Agreed. The silver iPhone should come with a black face option. Maybe down the line they'll find the right formula for a scratch resistant black aluminum finish.

I've felt the same for a while. Sucks that the current grey is even lighter than the 5s grey.

My view would be pretty much the same as yours (that is, I am in agreement with sk24iam's post).
