u can do it now on iphone 3g. just hit the plus button to add people in the "to" field when you text.

i have unlimited messaging so cost isn't the issue, when i got send a group message some of my lame friends who don't have iPhones don't receive the message.

Pretty sure you can. It adds a new text message there with all their numbers saved, you can type in it again to send another message out to all.

But their individual messages will show up in private text messages from them. So you can reply to 1, or all.

Yes, disable MMS in Settings > Messages.

haha I've done that 2...however, either you can't receive them all in the same box or they don't have iPhones, cause I remember each message they sent back getting it's own convo thing. 😎
