There’s a bug in spotlight where typing doesn’t do anything.

There’s another bug in certain apps where clicking with the mouse pointer on certain buttons doesn’t do anything. These buttons can only be activated by using the touch screen.

There’s a bug whereby it is impossible to activate split view for any apps stored in a folder in the dock.

Apple should fix these bugs

1. Multiple audio streams
2. Have more than 1 app allowed in slide over
3. UI improvement for example, back button on some apps and in safari overlap the close, minimise, full page button.
3. Add photos library to the files app
4. Multiple video streams for example in Zoom or Teams can share your screen and not have it turn off your camera.
5. Stability in general.
6. in Preview app, add in a redaction tool.
7. Ability to name workspace and have preset workspaces you can set up.
8. Keyboard/trackpad Continuity across iPads, so can wo
9. Reset other iPads/iPhones

I can tell you put a lot of reasonable thought into your post and I like several of your requests. In regards to 7) You can already do that with Safari using a fairly new feature called Tab Groups. On the iPad, I use a new Browser called "Beam". It is specifically made for power users on iPad and it does Tab Groups even better than Safari, along with allowing PiP and many other things Safari either doesn't, or houses it in a better GUI that is much easier to get to and give you more granular control. I am onboard with 2,3,4,5,8,9,10.

Ultrawide screen display support when plugged in to a display/dock. I would seriously consider a 13 pro for my only device. The 5g connectivity would be a great asset to my workflow. another drawback is I don't think I can use something like the rodecaster pro to record audio into the iPad for vlogcast/podcast work either. Theree aer a couple of limitations but nothing too major. Maybe they will give support for all of this soon! Crossing my fingers.

- Correctly working button [Eject] in Files (safely removing external SSD's)
-
Support for simultaneous audio and video playback

Primary wants
1. "Simple" (iPadOS 18) window multitasking toggle
iPadOS 18 was peak iPad window multitasking in my opinion. The windowing system was simple, intuitive, and versatile. I thought the way it did Split Screen and Slide Over and PiP were about perfect. My preference would be that it replace the "no multitasking" mode using the Control Center multitasking toggle. "Power/advanced" (iPadOS 26) mode would only be useful to me when using an external monitor.
2. iPhone Screen Mirroring
This is big for me because I'm more of an iPad user than iPhone. I prefer to use my iPad Mini at home and leave my iPhone charging, but I often have to keep my phone around for this or that reason. Screen Mirroring would enable me to carry around my Mini only. I don't know how much of a technical hurdle this is since iPadOS doesn't have the same low level flexibilities as macOS.
3. Better Sidecar drawing with Apple Pencil
This is a work need for me. The accuracy and control of lines needs to be improved when drawing on Mac.
4. Preview app thumbnail pane (like on the Mac version)
Another work need for me. I need to be able to have a group of files ready to open and view as reference while working in another app, so I'd like Preview on iPad to work like on Mac, which can show a thumbnail pane with multiple files open simultaneously, letting me switch between them quickly. If this already exists on the iPad version, I haven't been able to figure it out.

Secondary wants
5. Two simultaneous audio streams
Like others, I often have audio playing in the background that I don't need to pay attention to, and sometimes want to quickly play audio in the foreground.
6. More obvious visual indication of active window
When multiple windows are open, it's often difficult to know which window is active and will therefore receive keyboard input. I've accidentally changed/closed the wrong window many times.
7. Offline notepad widget with simple/rich text
There may already be a third party option for this, but often when I'm using an app, I want to slide over a small notepad to quickly jot down a fleeting thought, or form my message without risk of accidentally sending/posting it. I don't want to switch to another app entirely and lose the context of what I was doing. I would also prefer it to not sync to a cloud server--I like the idea that it's offline and temporary, which urges me to act on the note and not leave it there indefinitely. I would like the option of rich text, but I also sometimes prefer working in simple text. I also often want to quickly strip formatting from rich text.

There may be more that I'm not thinking of right now.

- MacOS App Support

This I'd like to have so I can play the Mac App Store version of Dreamlight Valley with cross-save instead of being limited to the Apple Arcade version.

I don't need full side-loading. I'd be content with getting access to the Mac App Store.

You want iOS 18 multitasking in "No Multitasking" mode? Umm.. that would defeat the purpose of no multitasking in that mode. If anything, I think Apple should create 3 modes... Full Screen mode (no multitasking), iOS 18 Multitasking and Stage Manager. But when used with an external monitor the display gets Windowed mode.

I thought some one was saying multiple user accounts where suppose to come out soon in the next update?

That only if Apple wants to make market shares in business world that want to buy hundreds of iPads for the business.

I would like a fix to multitasking so if you have two apps side by side (aka Split View) you can lock them so you can only change the width of each, not the height as well. So often I swipe up from the bottom to get to the dock or another app and I end up grabbing the corner of one of the apps in Split View and resizing it by mistake. I like the flexibility of being able to make apps as big or small as you want but sometimes it’s too easy to resize and you end up doing it by mistake.

“Forced app closure.” I'd love to have that feature work reliably again... I know I'm asking a lot of Apple's overworked developers.

While there is already rumors that this will be the case I would love to see them really digging deep into the OS and optimize the hell out of it. And get a gang of UX people with OCD in and polish the OS so that it looks great.
But aside from that and all the good things being mentioned in this thread (such as guest login) I can't come up with anything.

I send Apple a request years ago for a feature called "friend mode" or "party mode", basically a guest login that's cut down where only one or two apps can be published. Lets say you have a party and the iPad (or iphone) is the music player and people want to add tracks or change songs a "party mode" without a password and only one app shared could be fun feature.

There already is a mode called guided access in accessibility which locks the iPhone to a specific app.

Apart from bringing in a bunch of ocd ux people, sure it wouldn’t hurt to go through iOS 26 And see what may pop up as an inconsistency.

I should prob have explained a bit more.
What I am after is a dual login where a user can enable "friend mode" (or whatever it could be called).
Back in the days when we swiped to open I suggested that "friend mode", the other login/profile, could opened with swiping the other direction.

And when its opened you can only see apps that's enabled by the user to be shared.

Lets say the user starts Spotify at a party but don't want to share their passcode as soon as someone wants to swap song. They could then share this app to the friend profile so that users can login (with a simple login, 4 digits) and just get access to that particular app.
I also see a usecase for kids, parents share out a few apps in this particular locked down profile but don't have to worry about the kids getting access to other stuff.

I see where you are coming from, but today iOS does not support multiple profiles in the same way as windows. But maybe one day.

Umm.. this already exists. When in Split View you can change the width of the two (side by side) apps…
