Apple took a dramatic step backwards - in the right direction - when designing the new iPad pro.

Apple made a mistake while designing the iPhone 6, a failed design, that kept going up to the iPhone 8, a device, that made no distinction between an Apple device and a korean or chinese phone.

There were concepts at that time, preserving the distinguished Apple look, like

My guess is, that Ive already has a device like this already on the table >

I think, the only questions that Apple is looking to find an answer for is:

1. What will be the screen size. 4 inch or 4.6 to 4.7ish ?

2. Will it be a premium product or a budget phone ?

Since the new iPad pro came out with that design, I strongly believe that this will be the next "new" iPhone hitting the market in Summer 2019, September 30th being the lastest day...

I would sell my iPhone X today for an SE that 1) was the same physical size as the original SE with an all screen front, 2) had iPhone X or better internals, and 3) had wireless charging. I would wake up at 2 a.m. to preorder that phone. Bonus if it comes in colors like the Xr.

If he rumors about a new iPad mini that resembles the entry level iPad next year are true, I’d say releasing an updated SE at the same time would be the best time to do it. If they don’t, the SE won’t ever be updated and will take it’s place in Apple history.
