Are there SE users that have upgraded to the lastest/greatest without looking back? Are there those who will hang on to the SE for as long as it lasts? Curious what is is that made you upgrade, or conversely, keep the older iPhone.

I have one se in my house and offered to give my xs max or get them a different phone. They don’t want to change. It’s a great little phone

I like to think that I pay attention to what consumers use for smart phones in public, I _never_ see the SE. Now, let me pre-face by saying that I actually owned the SE for about a year before I sold it. But I only purchased it because I wanted something smaller, and in today’s era of tech, consumers want larger displays, that’s why the SE never really was gravitated towards. Not to mention, Apple never marked the SE and nor did any carriers, which probably affected the net sales.

Man if they can release the iPhone 11 for 699, a phone with an SE chassis but edge to edge display even with a notch would really be tempting. They could probably leave it to 2-3gb of RAM, one camera, and the same LTE modem from last years phones and sell millions of them. Also they could probably sell it for slightly more than the iPhone 8. Somewhere around $500-550. Ultimately, they don’t want people buying these taking away profits from the flagships. What do you guys think?

It’s still relevant to users who prefer the smaller form factor. I’m still using my SE to play music and games. It’s definitely still capable and battery last long enough for my needs at 94% capacity.

I think if they release it in the late spring they won’t really impact sales and will have captured tons of the hype momentum converted into purchases by then anyways. Coupled with the fact that 2020 iPhone is what everyone is banking on being the next design iteration like how it was 6/6s/7/8 we got X/xs/11/ maybe a 12 thats like an 8 but I think more of restarting the design cycle ,

SE has proven to be on a wild card if ever release schedule not factoring into people’s strategies to wait endlessly
Or go with what’s out there , like the mini from 4 to 5 gap, and in that sense won’t cannabalize much in the way of people who weren’t willing to use bigger phones/tablets or pay big premiums anyways, that general overlap in market

I don’t see them releasing a phone as expensive as 11 if it comes in mini form and with some concessions like se1 did at its time despite being awesome a9 when a9 was the latest and greatest mid cycle

Anyways ... I want a damn se2 in any capacity. Even if it’s somehow a letdown just a sign from Apple they haven’t totally abandoned the small phone market

my wife checked out my 11 yesterday - she has an SE. She was massively surprised how stupidly large and heavy it was. And was then sad when I told here there aren’t really any small phones anymore

if apple don’t refresh the SE before the SE stops getting support I don’t know what she’ll do

If the 2020 iPhones are a similar design language to the iPad Pro, that also works quite well for the SE so they could reuse the chassis and update the guys to save cost. Price is important though - can the put faceID in it due to cost or even size with such a small phone? Maybe waiting for under screen touchID

and if LCD the larger bezels like the 11 would be huge on an SE style phone

It’s about as relevant as a nineties flip phone.
I have to use a SE for work and i hate the thing. Screen is tiny.

I’m definitely part of the SE fan club. Only upgraded to the 11 because I cracked the se screen but after using the 11 for a week, I just ordered a replacement screen for the SE. Not worth selling but thinking of giving the 11 to a family member and going back, the 11 was really just a hold over until the new 5.4” 2020 iPhone comes out for me anyway. Love the size of the SE.

Bought a new (new 'old' stock) 128 GB SE just the other week as I needed a bit more storage. I'd taken a look at the new lineup and rejected them all; my requirement for a phone is that it be as small as possible and do everything "well enough", which is exactly what the SE does. Even a snazzier camera isn't enough to win me over.

What you see in public will be distorted by the type of users who use the phone very publicly. People who are on the phone all the time are likely to value the large screen more. People who want to stay connected and have access to apps, but don't use it a lot when out, will value the small size more. Only one of those types do you get to see their phone a lot.

All phone screens are tiny compared to my Mac and iPad, so I focus my screen time on when I have access to those. My phone is ready to go when I need it, but the amount of time I look at it means I am willing to compromise screen size for device size. Apple has abandoned a form that used to be central to their sales. The speed with which recent releases of SE stock sold out shows there is still an appetite for the size.

Count me in as another SE user. It’s perfect for me when out. I don’t need a large screen, I only need texts, calls, navigation, music, some apps. No need for Netflix or YouTube. Have an iPad for all that lovely content.

Would gladly upgrade to a 5.4 inch phone if available. Next year is probably time to retire this one, so I’m hoping for something similar sized (and USB-C as a bonus, please!)

I use an iPhone 5c and it works great. The SE is way better than the 5c, so if you’re comfortable with the size, there is really no reason to upgrade.

I thought there were rumors a few months back of a refreshed SE sized iPhone, I really can't wait for them to give is a small powerhouse in a small form factor.

If it’s within 14 days you can return it to Apple for a full refund.

It's my daily driver baby!
LOVE my SE - my favorite cell phone ever (so far).

Phenomenal physical size and weight and it runs like a champ on iOS 12.4 (where I'm staying for now due to JB)
