If I had to guess I think people prefer xbox live because of party chat which isn't possible on ps3. But new consoles are quite equal.

When I hear people make the argument of Xbox Live is better than PSN, all I do is scratch my head...its basically the same. I've never had a problem with XBL or PSN to conclude that one has a superior online multiplayer. I often don't experience lag on both platforms and when I link up with my friends its basically the same on both consoles..



The one thing(s) I absolutely hate about the Xbox One is the Metro style OS and the controller bumpers are mushy. I honestly wish I waited to buy the XBO because I don't really turn the thing on anymore(just like my 360) hopefully sunset overdrive will be great...hopefully.

The services themselves are very very similar. Psn gives much better content. But Xbox Live at least in my experience has more consistent use of voice in games, normally easier to start parties, and passive matchmaking. The passive matchmaking in Xbox one isn't used very much.

It all just depends on what you want to do. I absolutely have the metro interface, but I put up with it because that's where the people I know game.

Definitely not the definitive answer though.

As I say I play my PS3 and 4 online a lot: Street Fighter, GTAV, Killzone. I've never had a problem. The experience was no more better or worse, more empty or full or laggy than playing Halo 4 online .

Killzone Shadowfall multiplayer is very very much empty most of the time. Loved killzone though. The new need for speed for example always dropped me with weird errors about psn not being available to authenticate.

Sounds like a network issue. I used to get cut off from all services (spanning back to DS) but since I switched a new router it's been great for me.

I haven't found jumping out of a game to disable party chat to be slow or difficult. The PS4 menu is lightning fast. (though I now use my iPhone+Skype because even when people drop out of the game they can still talk)

Lol dude I get 95 down and 7 up. You are now repeating yourself. How is it that Xbox live works fine but PSN doesn't when I have a good bit of bandwidth.

Please feel free to repeat yourself more, but I've own both a PS4 and Xbox One and though I've said many complimentary things for the PS4 you seem obsessed with just repeating generic phone support advice.

Seriously man, the only network connectivity issue between me and the Internet is on the end point. I can Remote Desktop to a few different computers from an iPad from another state and everything work well. The home network is running the latest gear, on the literal fastest internet connection for our area. If PSN can't work on 95 down and 7 Up when Xbox live works flawlessly then the issue is someone drinking too much "kool aid" and not actually thinking about answers.
