    I have the streaming working fine for in the house, but what steps (if possible) would I take to getting my MBP streaming from my office to my ATV2?

    IP address?
    Special software?

    Thanks!

    set up a VPN network with your home router (you are going to need your public IP address and it will help if you have static, if not you can use something like mobileME or publicdns to get your changing ip).

    Once you got your VPN network setup between your home and office, your source computer would be just like a local machine and you will do it the same way you did it at home.

    keep in mind, unless you have a pretty good upstream, probably only music files will be playable.

    from my library a sample SD video file (30 minute show, 21:05 runtime, 182.5MB) would need a minimum upstream of 150 KB/s*. (it would take 21 minutes to upload the file at that speed) and that's if nothing else is going up.
    that's also the smallest files i have, some SD 30 minute shows are 250MB

    If you're going HD, or have something at a higher bitrate, you'll need more up speed.

    --------------

    *a big B not a little b. speedtest.net (and your provider) normally give speeds in little b
    1KB = 8 Kb,
    or for my example,
    150 KB = 1200 Kb = 1.17 Mb
