I have some of my video files in .avi formate but most of them are in .wmv format. The .avi ones I can Quick Look and it start immediately and I can skip through the video right to the end instantly. However, when using Quick Look with .wmv files they need a lot of time to load fully (while playing from the start) before I can skip through them. Also, when opening .wmv files with Quicktime it takes a while for the video to be 'imported' before it actually plays. On the other hand, VLC opens and plays them like they were avi files.

I need to look at a lot of videos and would like to play and skip through them to different times in the videos using Quick Look, but this can't be done with wmv files.

Can anyone help or is this just how it is?

By the way, I have Flip4Mac, Perian and VLC installed.

I think it has to do with the way Flip4Mac converts them and can't be avoided. (Other than using VLC)
