wmv video won't play...

I received an email (via iMail) that has imbedded videos in wmv format. The will not play due to an unsupported file format or some other message. How can I get them to play on my mac? Yes, I know these videos come from awindows PC but I thought the mac was an agnostic pc when it comes to video formats it is able to play.😕

P.S. it looks like it is trying to play the video in safari..I think.

My experience is that Flip4Mac works well UNLESS it's a wmv2 file. No plug-in seems to want to play with that format. If it is indeed a wmv2 file, you can have it transcoded for free at this site:

http://media-convert.com/convert/
