Woke up this morning to the vertical line of doom. Please halp!

2019 iMac 4K which has worked perfectly since I bought it late 2022.

I had budgeted for another 29 months of use.

The line itself is very faint - the width of a single pixel. I'd prefer it not be there, but truthfully it doesn't even bother me too much.

My bigger concern is this is an early sign of monitor failure. In an emergency, I guess I'd buy a Dell 21.5" monitor and hook it up to my iMac, but I'd much rather ride this thing into the ground and trash it 29 months from now.

Anyone offer some assistance? What happened? What is likely going to happen?

Well, it's a sign of a failure of one column 😉

As to whether that's going to grow to a greater failure or stay the same for the next 29 months - no telling. Could go either way.
