maybe he just wanted a swim?
that is odd though, the guide dogs are usually great. glad everyone is okay in the end.
proof of a slow news day?
Dog probably had one of the wham-fangled GPS systems it was following that gets trucks speeding off cliffs!
I saw this earlier and wanted to post it

It could almost be a sketch out of Little Britain
Two women were led into a river, but only one of them was visually impaired. What did the other woman suffer from, stupidity?
trying to help the other woman i would think. at least thats the only conclusion i came to.
And three rescue teams
? Must have been a deep river.
Come to think of it, one of the rescue teams probably had to go rescue another team that had driven into the river because of faulty GPS
A spokesman for whom? The dog? The river? The Association of Aquatic Canines?
Buckinghamshire Fire Service Spokesman.

from the original story linked it seems that both women fell when trying to help the guide dog, the likely owner of the dog and another one possibly helping her.
Does this remind anyone else of The (American) Office episode when Dwight is in the car with Michael and the GPS leads Michael through a "secret shortcut" right into the lake?
