I have a friend who has an iPod touch and it NEVER asks him for his password before he purchases an app; when he clicks "Buy" it starts downloading.

My iPhone always asks me for my password, even for updates.

He would like for it to ask for the password... where do I change this? I looked in the phone settings and in his iTunes account and I can't find anything.

Man that must not be fun, be very careful not to download something you don't want. What I wish they would implement is a popup BEFORE you agree to buy it as to wether you purchased it already. I do this with apps a lot, "redownload" because I pick things up from my phone directly but then download it again from my laptop. The way it is now, you click buy, it says, "are you sure?" you say yes; then it pops up, do you want to download it again for free, you already own it. Sometimes I forget the exact name, so why not ask first? I have purchased more then one app by clicking the wrong name (some have very similar names).
