Won't complete my software update

When i click on download and install updates for me phone, as soon as its downloaded on my itunes it says processing file and then fails there. The message that pops up says i problem has occur, timed out, check your internet settings. I havent been able to get any software updates for my phone because of that.

I have Nokia 6300 and got a message in my inbox from a friend that cannot be deleted.
