Won't connect to iTunes - HELP

Ok - it connects once - then if I eject it and go to re-connect - it won't - iTunes just sits there like a bump and does nothing. Is there anything I can do to get it to recognize it?

I usually have to re-boot then plug it in again.

It's a pain!
 
just a guess, but how about verify permissions and also uncheck the button for sync when connecting (i forget the exact phrase) eject the iPhone and close iTunes, then open itunes connect iPhone and enable this option. sync and hopefully you should be in business.
