Hello,

I've been using bootcamp switching between mac and windows for the past couple years and I'm stuck.

For the first time while I was in the Windows 7 side of things, an Apple update display box appeared.
It was asking for me to update boocamp and a few other toys.

So I did and it needed a restart.

It restarted and macdrive on my windows said that it couldn't recognize one of the disks and to restart.

SO I restarted again....no macdrive error message.

But then I went to explore my mac disk and macdrive recognizes it's there but it just shows up empty.
I click properties and it shows that there is stuff on there but nothing is appearing.

I restarted the computer and did the option key thing, selected the mac partition to load, and it just sits there with the apple logo for a while then it turns into a "no" sign "a circle with a slash through it."

Then I restarted into windows fine and tried switching via bootcamp in the control panel.
The same thing happened....apple logo then the "no" sign. I've left the computer alone for a long time thinking maybe it was trying to update something
....but it just sits there.

Please help... you're my only hope.

recovery questions

So i have to reinstall Mac OS, which will format the disk, then do the bootcamp thing again to partition it, then install Window again along with all my programs?

I have some files on the mac side that did not get a chance to back up. How can I recover those before I have to format it? :(

The next time I go through bootcamp do I just not do the update or has anyone else had this issue?

Update Number

This was after installing the 3.3 Bootcamp update BTW.
I uninstalled the update.....still nothing.

HELP!
