happened twice on me, my new macbook pro wont wake up.

first time, not sure what i accidentally pressed and the screen went off. tried to "click" and then press the power button, screen wouldnt turn on. strangely though, didnt think the computer really "slept" because when i "clicked" or pressed the power button, i could still see through the dark screen my computer was still running, i could still that "downloading updates" and a couple other windows on at that time.

2nd time, left my computer on as i was installing softwares, was fine when i clicked to wake it up, but then when it went to sleep again, it wouldnt wake up.

had to force-shutdown with the power button to re-start up.

advice.

The newer machines don't have inverters, and the display assemblies can't be taken apart, so that significantly simplifies things involving backlight issues. You either have a bad display assembly or a bad logic board, and it's most likely the display assembly. Bring it in.
