I was typing in English and all of a sudden, almost the entire document changed to Chinese characters. I say all of a sudden because I do not know if I inadvertently hit a keyboard shortcut that made this happen or what. I tried Edit > Undo which deleted the text I just typed, but did not convert the symbols back to English words. I thought maybe it was a bug or glitch, so I saved the document, closed Word, and restarted my computer. Of course the document re-opened with the same Chinese characters. And I don't have any previously saved versions (or can't find one). After several hours of trying, I haven't been able to convert the characters back to English (and still don't know how the conversion happened in the first place). Does anyone have help or suggestions? I have attached the document.

I have a Macbook Pro, OS 10.7.3, Word 2010.

PLEASE HELP!!!

I too have had this issue. The only solution I found was to open up a previously saved document and start from there.

Has anyone successfully solved this problem?
