Has anyone had any interesting problems recently with Word 2011 and their CPU usage? In the last day or so, I have noticed that when a word document is in focus (if its not in focus, there is no problem), Word is eating about 50-60% of the CPU. I have restarted, tried different documents, repaired permissions, and just about everything else I can think of. It happens on existing documents as well as newly created documents.

Does anyone have any thoughts about why this might be occurring? Its really killing the battery time when I am trying to draft documents.

    Thanks in advance

Go to your preferences folder and delete this:

    com.microsoft.Word.prefs.plist

Restart Word and see if it's fixed.
