I was searching through the App Store a couple of days ago and to my amazement there are not many word/character count Apps. And in my opinion, the Apps that are there aren't very good! Therefore I've decided to make my own and it has now been submitted to Apple!

The App is now available for download: Word Count

    Here is the App Description:
Download the App from the App Store.
You can find out more info about Word Count on my website: JAS Applications

Attached are a few screenshots and I will post back once the App is accepted!

    Thanks

Not sure what is going on, but if I click on your "JAS Applications" link posted above OR your "Website" link at the bottom of your post it routes me to a "MobileMe is closed" page.

I tried this in three different browsers on two different devices (desktop and iPad)

That looks very professional! I use word counters on my computer a lot when writing papers, or even just for fun when I write a long argument or something. I like how you can send it out through the app via tweet, email, etc. Very good!

After a ridiculously long review time, Word Count was finally accepted into the App Store last night! (Yay!) You can download the App here: Word Count.

It is great in the messaging options, but could you implement this on office document editing?

So like, the App would import a Word/Excel/etc document and then count the words/characters/etc in that document?

I will look to add this in the next update :)

Yeah! something like that. Many of the document viewers and editors fail to add that simple feature. I mean, when I am writing, I would like to know how many words I have already done.

Your app is very nice. I like it. By the way, there is lots of alternative tools online available freely on the web, such as http://wordcounttools.com. Who are the audiences you are targeting with your iOS app?
