Word Processor open multiple files tabed in one window?

Is there a free word processor that can open multiple documents in one window so they are tabbed? I need this to work like tabbed web pages in firefox.

I dont need anything very powerful but some basic word processing features, not just a text editor like the ones you might use for editing code.

Im really hoping there is a free program out there.

How about Editra?

+Opening files after program launch will now be opened in the running instance instead of creating a separate running instance using the user preference settings for opening new files in tabs or windows.

ive just installed editra, problem is its not much or a word processor. It seems more like smultron like its more of a code editor.

I ideally want the functionality of a word processor like abiword of neooffice, etc, but also the ability to tab document.

Any other ideas?

Use emacs.

It's very powerful, yes so simple!

And you run it in Terminal, so it can be tabbed.

thanks, but that one looks like a code editor too.

I just want a normal word processor like office, openoffice, etc.
