Word slow downs

Word slows down my computer to a crawl. It takes several seconds to import a photo, and crashes if I drag and drop a photo. istat shows 99% under processes for word. What is wrong with my word?

For whatever reason I don't think word is optimized for the macs. I have an crappy Dell (at least 3yrs old) at work and word runs better on that machine then it does my 3.06 MBP???

As far as your word goes, maybe reinstall it and see what happens...or just pages with iWork?
 
I use Word for school, but I have been thinking of trying out iWork. I'll probably have both on my computer. 😀

Do you have the latest version of Office?
 
hmm, my dad has a an aluminum imac from 2007 and it seems to multi-task w/ word fine. maybe u just need to reinstall office.
 
I am running Word 2008 and it is not lagging at all. Not one bit. Even while multi-tastking under a decent load.
 
INSTALL SOFTWARE UPDATES.

nuff said.


But seriously, get the software updates from Microsoft, they help dramatically.
