Work device for sale - What would make it worth it?

So for work (A school) I have had a school macbook Air M1 2020 with 8gb memory and 250gb storage. My school is closing down and there are rumours that they may offer to sell the school device to you if you want.
How much would be a decent price? I have had the machine since I arrived to this school nearly 4 years ago. Currently it is really slow, that may be because I have a million things open and storage nearly full.

Just wondering what price would make it a deal worth taking up if they offer this option.

Second question - I am also in the market for a second newer model. For teaching and some video work - I also like image editing and some graphic work with laser cutters etc. What would you recommend for me?

$300. just make sure its not im MDM mode and you can reflash a fresh install on it. if anything isnt working price would go down. check battery health
