Can someone give a list of real world uses that many people would find useful or desirable?
I asked this exact same question in another forum and to this day there's been no replies... just crickets chirping.

It's still too soon?, that could explain the crickets :)

As for me, I've had fun creating workflows useful for myself:

- SMS Contact Info: for those times when I want to send a single SMS containing multiple phone numbers or email addresses... directly from the Contacts app

- Send Photo to Whatsapp : self-explaining, also directly from the Photos app

- Share Local Music: I'm surprised that Apple allow this, I can send via SMS or Email (as attachment) the song I'm listening to, or pick the one I want... no Itunes required

- Get Driving Directions in Google Maps: self-explaining, directly from the Contacts app

Well, those ones are useful to me... I keep looking forward for news on this app

Cheers!

I finally bit the bullet and bought Workflow for this very reason. :) I never considered that I was always manually adding my 4 siblings to each group text message by scrolling through my contacts... this has streamlined the process and made it a one-tap affair (I named the button "Family SMS").

I've also added a "Search Wikipedia" home screen button so I can specify search text and go to that page immediately.

I've played with the variables and math options and I can see myself using those the most. It's cool to tap a home screen button, enter a number, and see a math result for that number, without needing a dedicated calculator app.

So far, it's okay. I wouldn't say "mind-blowing" like so many other people, but Workflow is fine. It has great potential. I certainly don't feel like I've wasted my money.

IMO, they need to get rid of the real-time display of steps occurring during execution, as it's distracting and slow. Just do the magic behind the scenes and then display the results (if any). And then quit Workflow when done, instead of leaving it open in the background. I like a clean app!

Totally agree with getting rid of real-time displays, it breaks the experience ...

I couldn't find any place where users share their workflows :(

Let's start a wiki thread in the iPhone apps area.

I have two to share. I don't know how we'd break them up? I don't think just standalone/extensions work. Maybe actual categories?

Please feel free to create a new thread :)... I shall confess I've no ideia of where to start

Just(?) had a fairly big update. And David Sparks and Katie Floyd's current MacPowerUsers blog episode was all about Workflows, AND David has just released a Screencast video on all it can do...

Figured I'd mention the above. Have it as well - still trying to get my head around it. Mostly because it appears to be able to do so much, the real problem/bottleneck doesn't appear to be with the app, but with the user...

Working out what you want done, BEFORE looking at Workflow to see if it can be done, is where the challenge lies...

Thanks, will check that episode out!

I am playing with the new article actions. My most used one at the moment is one I made to grab the latest photo/screenshot, and send it to iCloud Drive. I have all this Markdown stuff too.
