Hey guys, I have the classic buckle and was wondering if anyone knew if it would hold up to sweat from working out?

I am intending to get a plastic band in 1/2 months when they are easily accessible

has anyone used their ss with leather for a workout?

Don't use your watch with a leather strap when you work out. That is gross.

Plus you will degrade the strap quicker and people will look at you funny in the gym.

I wouldn't imagine a month or so hurting it too much, but I would def get that sport band as soon as you can.

I'll be getting it at the end of May, do you think a month working out will ruin the band? I can always not use it.

----------

what about removing the strap and putting the watch in my pocket?

I'm no expert in the slightest... I do have to agree with everyone else that I do see it degrading the leather in the long run, but honestly what could a month do?

As far as putting it in your pocket, I feel like that probably would skew your data as it is meant to be worn on your wrist. Again, I don't claim any of this to be accurate, just what I think would logically make sense.

I don't want to take the chance on the band, this is annoying

Agreed. I ordered a black sports band and it's still sitting at "Processing" with an estimated delivery of "May." Thankfully (or not? lol) I ordered a 42mm SS w/ Link band, so I'm stuck with the 5/13-5/27 estimate for my watch too.

You could always order another watch. I have a SG sport on the way, love the SS with blue leather. I will probably buy that style in Gen 2 and keep the Gen 1 sport for workouts. I don't know how difficult it is to change the bands but it seems like it would get to be a pain on a daily basis

The issue is more to do with wanting to use the health features of the watch and feeling limited by the more premium band, its a bit crap

Hi everyone I can give you my experience working out with the Classic leather band.I too have a sport band on order for end of April to May 8th. I decided to go for few 5 mile runs with my watch. It was fine. As soon as I got home I made sure no sweat was still on the band as I cleaned it with a dry cloth. I also have gone to the gym and done some weight training wearing the watch. I am looking forward for my black sport band to arrive.

Cheers

Jeff

OH, so you wouldn't warn against using it for sweating? I sweat a lot haha

It is fine to work out with a leather strap on your wrist. You naturally sweat and release things from your skin daily anyway.

As long as you clean it every now and then it's fine.
