Ok, it seems Lion have changed their setting which makes most of the VNC clients on windows from connecting to the Mac. I finally get it working by using these setting: (Works on RealVNC viewer and UltraVNC Viewer)

On the Mac running Lion:

System Preferences -> Sharing -> Enable "Screen Sharing" -> Check "All Users" -> Computer Settings -> Check all setting and set VNC password

UltraVNC/RealVNC viewer:

The default setting should work, but you have to use the Max/Full color on connect.

Works for me.
I tried vnc-4_1_3-x86_win32_viewer.exe on Win7.
If I simply invoke vnc-4_1_3-x86_win32_viewer.exe, then click OK, enter password, then OK, a black screen flashes and app disappears.
But if I click Options and select Color Level == Full, then OK, OK, vnc password, OK, then I get Lion's login screen. When I enter Mac password (not VNC password) and press Enter, then I get Mac desktop.

Slightly OT: I had some similar results using VNC clients on iPad. To login directly to the Mac Desktop, use your Mac username as the VNC username, and then use the VNC password. This works reliably, whereas trying to go through the Lion login screen was very iffy.

As an aside, I found a gem of an iPad client in Remoter VNC. It also does a nice SSH terminal emulation.
