Anyone else following the World Chess Championship in NYC ?
It conflicts with the International Curling finals, and they're too riveting to watch anything else!
Actually, I like both curling and chess. Not necessarily together, though.
You should definitely check into Chess Boxing then! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chess_boxing
Er, no thank you, if it is all the same to you.
But I will admit that the thought of Vulcan (three dimensional) chess did intrigue me at one stage.
I never played 3D chess... one day I'll try.
I tried Chess960 (pawns set up as usual; pieces are still mirrored but set up randomly) and it's a lot of fun... yet a nice headache since you can't really prepare much as you never know what you're getting on the chessboard.
For the record, Magnus Carlsen is the 2016 Chess World Champion.
