Finally got the enclosure made. It’s 3D printed, and I’m quite happy with the fitment.

If anyone is interested in this adapter, you can have one for FREE (without enclosure) if you pay for the postage. I made too many and have about 20－30 left:

Don't get me wrong - USB3 IS an indisputably huge improvement over USB2. I just wish PC makers would retire USB2 for everything except mice and other lightweight peripherals. I think that attached storage (like to an Airport with AC or just directly wired via Ethernet) would benefit from USB3 -- because in the ideals settings shown in the Forbes test, USB2 transferred at only 40-ish MB/s max. While neither AC nor Ethernet would approach the speeds of which USB3 is capable, they would achieve at least a 50% improvement in speeds (my guess). That's all I want.
