I am hoping someone can let me know if my hard drive is crashing. Would a clean restore of the hard drive help? Thanks for any help.

That looks graphical.
Open up Disk Utility. Click on the hard drive (the main one) and click "verify disk". Let it run and see what it says about the drive.
Oh and edit your screen shot to remove your school e-mail address from the upper right hand corner on your google page.
