iPhone XS Max Worse battery life than my X

even if the XS Max was indexing, etc I wouldn’t expect similar usage would use 10% more battery than my X. Also, letting it sit on the desk doesn’t show an increase in screen off time. So for today, I am showing:
2hr 7min screen on
40min screen off
7:17AM I took it off the charger at 100%. It is now 6:09PM.
65% battery left.

Thoughts?

For comparison, my X:
2hr 29min screen time
26min screen off
7:26AM removed from charger @ 100%
73% battery left

System, battery. More than likely an app. Check and see if there’s a hog. If not, clean install?

Yes, for me, it drains faster than any of my precious iphones. Maybe related to ios12

Try to connect it to iTunes then do a "connect to iTunes" screen then "update" to a fresh copy of iOS 12, that fixed my issue.

I’m on the beta of 12.1 and the battery life that I’ve been getting on my XS Max is absolutely insane. It’s been almost 15 hours since the last charge and I’m still at 48%. If a clean install doesn’t fix it for you then maybe there’s some software efficiency improvements in 12.1.

I'll add a screenshot tomorrow when my usage pattern is a bit more normal. As of now I'm at 53%, but it's not a great indicator since I updated iOS while on battery power and then I'm assuming it was indexing.

On pace for 10hrs, which is great considering you’re using Facebook and that’s what of the worse apps out there for killing battery.

Nope .More like 8-9 hrs. My X is at least as good and even that's not enough these days.
