QC? You really believe it was boxed up like that at the factory?

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. I got my username from my first MacBook Pro that came straight from the factory (custom order shipped from China) with a big dent in the base - and no there was absolutely no damage to the packaging, they'd simply put it in the box that way. Needless to say it wasn't my MacBook Pro for very long.

very sorry about it...

very nice car there...love the E90...:cool:

Great eye.

I'm sure that it did not come out of the factory in that condition. Given that the packaging of iPads generally have no shock resistance it could have easily happen during the transport/freight process. Did the box have any signs of damage? With iPhones and iPads and no cushioning, I always examine the box before I take it out of the store.

I agree. I normally check the packaging before I leave the store. But the box did show signs of damage, but I didn't see if until I left the store. (I ordered online and did a pick up. So it was behind the counter and then they put it immediately into a bag). Lesson learned on my part for sure. Lets hope my new Iphone 6+ that arrives tomorrow is in better shape. :)

Wow, how does that even happen? Was the box damaged? I got mine from Best Buy last night too using the 10% off coupon. I had been holding out because all they had were Silver in the 128GB for weeks. Glad mine came out nearly perfect. No bend, no uneven backlight. Only thing is that it vibrates some when playing sound. It's not horrible, but it was enough that it definitely drew my attention when it happened, even though I had forgot about that thread completely and was just playing with my new iPad. Hopefully the black Smart Case that I picked up will help keep it from bending, just like my iPhone 6 Plus.

Apple really needs to start making these things out of stronger materials. Isn't that liquid metal stuff supposed to be as strong as titanium? They can't keep getting thinner and remain intact by using aluminum.

So you got one of the 9 that bend.

We have two out of twenty we ordered for the business that came out of the box bent. When returning them to Apple the person who took care of us slipped and said hes seen it before. They're supposed to deny it, thats what all retail companies do.

Light thin and very fragile in the work environment these are proving to be a big headache for Apple. I knew their bizarre obsession would come back to haunt them one day. That day has arrived. Even with an appointment we had to wait.

It was very revealing to notice people in line ahead of us had bent ones as did the couple behind us. The price Apple pays for bragging rights is getting higher.

I've noticed over time (your handle is distinctive enough that I recognize it) that you do not like Apple/Apple Products. Do they force you to work with them some at work?

There's a guy where I work who's a windows guy and who must now support some Apple tablets as well. He ain't happy. He hates Apple. Says real men use Windows. He resents Apple because they make too much money and they've been getting more popular (the desktops and notebooks too). He can't understand why this is happening and rails against Apple ever time he sees someone with an Apple product. He's our cranky curmudgeon.

I agree, purchased the first Apple TV and the remote was melted like it was put on a hot stove right out of the box.

Respectfully... you are misreading my posts.

I am a long time high volume Apple shareholder, loyal customer and Apple enthusiast since 1991. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars on Macs, my computer and desktop OS of choice. Long before iOS and the devices it runs on ive used Macs amoungst the various platforms I work with as an R&D engineer. At home my entire network and ecosystem is Mac. My mobile devices are iOS, Android and misc.

That said what I am not is some yes man who's afraid to speak up when I see Apple going off in the wrong direction or acting like pompous dolts when they pull some stunt, questionable business practice or other pro Apple maneuver that isn't in the customers favor.

Knowing Apple and their history exceptionally well, I'm not afraid to point out when they're being hypocritical, a position they occupy all to frequently. If i didn't love Apple i wouldn't waste time participating in this excellent forum.

It's as simple as that. :)

Photos or it didn't happen... Nope? The OP has pointed out that his iPad box was damaged, causing the bend. Not much Apple can do about that.

Build a better box.....

they are actually packed in double boxes so no doubt some fat shop employee stood/sat on it :)

obviously not a factory worker as they are wee and thin due to living conditions and wages :(

Apple and their ***** obsession with thinness. The design of the iPhone 6 is gorgeous, but I would like the thickness of the iPhone 4.

In typical fashion Apple did the right thing & replaced them at the genius bar yesterday. We dont care if you don't believe it. As such it doesn't dampen your image of Apple as the perfect company.

In addition it removes any "what if" angst from occurring. I'm very kind that way.

I had one that looked slightly curved (bent) to me so I returned it for a replacement. It also weighed 440 grams and not the 337 grams advertised. My replacement weighs exactly 337 grams. Not sure how that could happen.

OP, thats awful. Oh well, at least you got a replacement. I'm nervous about all my apple products getting bent now hahaha :p jkjkjk

I would just ignore this person (they are going on my list), it seems they exist to try and make out people that have a problem as haters. This is from another thread, no suggestions just going after the op's. They can't seem to accept the there will be problems with any products.:

It seems 90% of your past posts are about screen tints on different devices. I have never seen any tint issues on any of my Apple devices including several iPhone starting with 3GS and now iPhone 6 +, Macbook Pros (2008 and 2014), Bondi Blue original iMac, MacBook Air 2013, thunderbolt display, iPad 2 and now iPad 2 Air.

This type of stuff only happens to me....

Good news I lucked out yesterday and found a Ipad Air 2, 128gig Silver Wifi/Celluar at Best Buy. After ordering online for a store pick up, I drove 45 minutes after work to pick it up. (Was even more excited that I was able to use the 10% coupon, thanks to this board)

Anyway, On the way home at a stop light, (close to my house), I decide to take it out of the box and look at it. And what do you know, It was bent. I drove 45 minutes back to the Best Buy (now doing 125mph) to exchange/return it. It was a miracle they had one left.

To make matters even worse, I really wanted to the spay gray but took a chance on the silver. Guess what? I don't like the silver, so it's going back...... Only me.....Only me... :)

Was it a sealed in plastic box?

That's very odd! What prompted you to weigh it in the first place? Just curious.

You're really lucky that they didn't try to blame you on that. Seriously it's a scary thing. What if they didn't believe?
