just the Touch Bar and heatM2 MBP...It is such a hard recommendation when the Air is better in almost every single way.

The m1 mbp is a better mba m1I'm pretty happy with my M1 MBP. Yes, it has a Touch Bar, and yes, it's an older design, but it's a really solid machine. And compared to the Intel machines in the same skin, an entire world of difference.
The thing is, enterprises used to buy Windows PCs. Everyone who bought a computer for themselves and therefore cared a little bit about the user experience, preferred a Macintosh. To say there's now a Mac, which is such a bad deal that only enterprises would buy it (for their most-neglected employees), is an alarm signal. It's the "enterprise" build, ...
I think at the time was because while the air got a full redesign, the 13" m2 pro kept the very old chassis which I think turned a lot of people off of it, just looked too dated to justify spending more for it. Besides the fan and Touch Bar, there was nothing superior about it compared to the M2 air. The air had the nicer and larger screen, improved speakers, better webcam, MagSafe charging etc.Why all the hate for the M2 13-inch MacBook Pro? Sure, it kept the Touch Bar longer than anyone thought, but did that really make it a bad computer? Same for the M2 13-inch MacBook Air. In both cases, I can see a case being made for the 256GB drives being terrible, but that's only on the base model! Also, that same problem impacts 512GB drives on anything M2 Pro or M2 Max, which isn't listed.

Just wasn't a good value at all. The airs main issue was The big downgrade in ssd speed, that definitely soured a lot of people when it first came out. I had an m2 air but with upgraded storage so I didn't suffer from the low ssd speeds but I can see why it bothered many who were eyeing up the base model version and see it was downgraded from the previous gen
I definitely get all of that. It just seems like the hate wasn't about the product itself being any worse than its immediate predecessor, but rather it not having a new design. Seems highly superficial to me.I think at the time was because while the air got a full redesign, the 13" m2 pro kept the very old chassis which I think turned a lot of people off of it, just looked too dated to justify spending more for it. I have a 256 M2 air and it’s…totally fine. I don’t get what all the fuss is about. Sure, the SSD isn’t as fast as others, but the computer doesn’t feel slow at all during regular use. IMO this is a complete nothing-burger panic from spec-chasers.I definitely get the hate for 256GB M2 Macs all around; it was an obvious mistake on Apple's part and a bad look to have an SSD that is slower than both M1 and T2 based Macs. But, other than the design overstaying its welcome and 256GB models being junk, I don't know why the M2 13-inch MacBook Pro should be seen as any worse than its immediate predecessor (and the poll doesn't reflect that kind of hate for the M1 13-inch MacBook Pro).
I'm surprised the poll didn't include the M2 Ultra Mac Pro, but then again it would have won hands down. And , It wasn't a bad computer provided your use case and budget fit the machine. It was just a bad fit for the workstation market in general and over priced. I think Apple missed the chance to keep it relevant by not having the SOC on an upgrade-able daughter card.
Because the lack of redesign made it an inferior product to the cheaper air alternative. It wasn't just design, it now had a worse screen, speakers, webcam, bluetooth, no MagSafe and also was hit with the 256gb speed downgrade for MORE money than the new m2 air. It just made it a very hard device to justify anyone buying.I definitely get all of that. I don't blame anyone for not being impressed with it
