I've been offered a 2011 iMac for GBP500 ($700).

Anyone have any opinion whether it's even worth buying a 2011 iMac? Or will support for these run out soon?

thanks!!

It depends on how pressed for cash you are.

If you can't dig up the money for "more", it will do.

If you CAN afford to spend more, it's probably better to spend more for something new (or newer).

USB3 is a MUST, in my opinion. An order of magnitude better than USB2.

Depends on the spec. Post full specification of it.

Agreed post specs, i look after 2011 21.5's and they're very nice machines. If you're willing to invest in thunderbolt / firewire drives, if you require high speed external storage, you may not miss USB 3.

As for support, i imagine depending on the specs, it will continue to be eligible for the latest OS at least for the next couple of releases.
