Worth it to upgrade if buying new phone Friday?

Just wondering if it's worth it to go through the effort of upgrading my 4S if I'm buying a 5S on Friday. Thoughts?

(Definitely not upgrading my iPad's OS until I hear things stabilize.)

Yeah, I'm actually doing that with another vendor and getting $200. My question was about iOS, though and whether I should bother upgrading the 4S if I'm buying a new phone in 2 days. Thanks though.

Sure why not? Not like it is difficult.

Also the iPad runs fine. I have the iPad mini and it is extremely smooth.

There's no reason not to. It runs very smooth on the 4s.

That's like asking, "Should I drink a coke or a pepsi right now? Can anybody decide it for me, help?".
 
How do you know you're getting your phone on Friday? They maybe sold out when you arrive, or got in line too late.

Anyway, update now and get it all set up for the new phone.

You can sell your old iPhone 4S to BuyBackWorld for a higher price than Gazelle's . BuyBackWorld is guaranteeing quotes until Oct 31. Gazelle used to match until Oct 15 but seem to have extended the quote lock until Oct 31 also, but BuyBackWorld's prices are still much higher.

I got a better price at NextWorth. There's a code for 4s that gets a good price.

I did end up going to iOS7 and it went smoothly, but took a while. Now I'm trying to do my wife's phone and the download says its 11hrs and climbing. I think I'll wait on that one.

If you are currently on an iOS version that can be JB then I wouldn't update. It keeps your options open.

Definitely updates your 4S, iOS 7 looks good on it, but you'll be even more satisfied with your iPhone 5S since iOS 7 looks way better on the new iPhone models
