All my stuff is on Youtube Music. I bought a Series 6 watch the other day and got 6 months of free Apple Music. It's just different and not sure the benefits it has. Any suggestions from people that has used both?

I use YouTube music and it’s bad. The only reason I keep it is as free YouTube for my tv and idevices. Apple Music would for sure be better.

I subscribed YouTube music for abt 6 months. Now I am in 3 months trial Apple music. So far, Apple music provide more consistent quality (in Youtube music, sometimes it took from Youtube video whose sound is lower kbps). Reason I really enjoy YT is it also eliminate ads in Youtube.

Yup - I want to switch back to Spotify but I don't want to pay for 2 music services. I can't go back to YT ads either lol. Wish they'd offer a separate tier just for ad free YT w/o the music service.

You're getting 6 months of Apple Music free, so just give it a try and see what you think. You'll have plenty of time to use both and decide which you prefer. It won't cost you anything extra for that time.

Personally I've never used Youtube Music, or been tempted to. I have Apple Music, it works well for my interests, and seems to have practically anything I want.

For the past few months I’ve been a-b-c testing YT Premium, Spotify and Apple Music. AM is by far the worst. No other service stops playing downloaded music and forces me to connect to WiFi to continue playing music. On a hike, that is just awful to experience. AMs spatial audio is terrible via headphones as well. YT musics audio quality is on par with AM but the UI is bad. Only real reason to go with YT is if you watch a lot of YT, in which case you’ll have no ads. I’d personally go with YT over AM since Apples apps are bad. In the end I went with Spotify. Better apps, available on more devices, and their audio streams sound better than the other two.

That’s quite interesting. I am also trying out AM but registered user of YT Premium. I am considering switch to AM due to better sound (compared to YT) and its integration of existing local library. I don’t really care on spatial audio or lossless audio as they won’t work with wireless headphones.

Not to get too off topic but I’ve used Apple Music for quite a while and have never experienced having to connect to WiFi in order to play any downloaded music. Can you expand on your issue? Maybe it’s a settings issue you are having?
