just a theory, If they changed nothing on the cases, except adding a port, and the current other c2d laptops are even hotter than their CD counter parts, shouldn't that not fix the heat issue, and in fact make it worse. Of course thats complete theory and speculation.

addition:
Yes, your MacBook Pro, which will feel hotter because of the fact that it has an aluminum casing as compared to a plastic casing.

or it could be the fact that their is also a graphics card and the processors run faster.

What port would they add to the machine?

I'm in the same situation as you,,,

i've beenn waiting a while now for the new macbook,,but i've been waiting so long, why cave in long,,i'd be awesome if they came out tommorow,,but i'm guessing the 13th,,,

ooh sorry i was just speculating about the mbp and the c2d possibly "fixing" the heat issue, and how the c2d could effect the mb.

I figured it was because of the heating vents, which Apple enlarged with the C2D MPB's. COuldn't that be it?

If they did something similar for the MB to solve that and other issues with Rev 1, me and many other people would be happy enough. The upgrade to C2D in the MB will not make that much difference performance wise.

But of course, I wouldn't complain if Apple wanted to upgrade.

I didn't notice that. Could have some change on the temp, but it could also be a different fan layout or something. I haven't looked at the internals enough to know.

I take offense to that.

none was intended, believe me! the iBooks are still great machines but they no longer fit into Apple's plan (stating the obvious here). i know plenty of people with PBs and iBooks whose machines are running almost as well as the day they got them.

how? and do you have comparison pics.
