Would a Verizon iPhone make sense today?

I was thinking about this earlier, and I realized that back in 2007, the iPhone was announced in January, and released in June. That's a 6 month time span. Now we're in July, and there's rumors of the Verizon iPhone being released in January of next year, which is, yep, six months from now. It would be pretty coincidental, and I know they'll address the antenna problem, but I'm staying positive.

Although, I can't see Steve Jobs talking about fixing the problem and then saying, "And now we're releasing the iPhone 4 to tens of millions of Verizon customers." Seems very un-Jobs like, and kinda silly, to be honest.

    What does everyone else think?

No. Couldn't be a worse time. It would look like apple is turning their back on everyone that bought an AT&T iPhone 4 at launch.

Haha. I would laugh if this wasn't about the antenna at all.

It's about the new verizon iphone!!! THAT would throw people for a loop!

Edit: for the record, I would thought a fit and be totally pissed... But after I laughed :p

The only thing worse than an apple fanboy is a verizon fanboy.
Now piss off and buy an imitation iPhone.

Calm down. It's just a phone. Unless the iPhone solves the problem of world hunger, and only Steve Jobs has it, nobody should be getting that upset over a phone. I'm just pointing out a coincidence. You don't have to post anything if you don't want to.

Apple announced it in Jan, later eleased in 6 months
You claim rumors said it will come to verizon, and its 6 months from janruary

I can't believe i even bothered posting this

THERE HAS BEEN COUNTLESS RUMORS, Just because its 6 months before the "rumored" Jan launch date for Verizon DOESNT MEAN ITS AS POSSIBLE compared to Apple's official announcement back in Jan

    No.

Pretty sure we won't see anything with Verizon until 2012.

Besides today Apple is gong to address iPhone 4 issues. This has nothing to do with expanding availability to Verizon.

Too much competition from Android for an iPhone to be relevant on another network. Maybe they should just release it to everyone.
