Im not even interested in the xR as I have last years X that works wonderful. However, I remember this ad and seeing how visually appealing it was that we have a variety of choices here. It draws the eye, and had me considering a color despite me always going for black or gray in the end.

Now that the xR has debuted, they decided to add color but of course different than the standard rainbow colors.

I understand this is a much more expensive device. So with logistics and what not they probably studied colors for years before deciding on the current line up.

I just think it would have been cool to see and would have definitely brought on some impulse buyers.

Much prefer those shades to their lastest ones.

I think the current colors Apple is offering is a wide variety, and they usually are very neutral with their colors, but this time with the XR, they really have an option for everyone.

There’s 6 colors to choose from. Don’t know why it has to be exactly those colors in the picture.

Its not the amount of choices, its the shades they went with. Standard rainbow is more familiar and vibrant IMO. Plus it would be a nod to the past. Not that it matters, would have just been cool to see.

I never cared for gold / rose gold but apparently its big in asian markets so I guess after market research it comes down to $$$.

There's a story today about how the XR is expected to sell tons of units in China. I'm guessing that means they're cool with the color options. They definitely were not cool with the X, XS or XS Max.

I love the purple and green. But I’m already having trouble picking an Xr color. I’m torn between yellow, coral and blue. I am even looking at the red one, though I already own a Product Red 8 Plus, which I am keeping. If Apple had offered us a full rainbow assortment to pick from I think my head would explode in a cloud of feathers.

For me, the problem is they look so nice spread out next to each other. It’s hard to pick just one.

I miss my Max and I’m sorry it didn’t work out for me. But I have to admit I don’t mind my current dilemma. :) Apple was smart releasing them in a variety of bright colors along with the traditional standard black and white. They did a really nice job with making the black one look stealthy and cool and the white a crisp bright white.
